2021 Chamisal Vineyards San Luis Obispo Coast Syrah

Our San Luis Obispo Coast Syrah is predominantly made from our estate, but we also source some of the fruit from a handful of local vineyards within five miles. Inspired by the cooler climate Syrahs of the Northern Rhone, we co-ferment with a small amount of estate-grown viognier that we have inter-planted among our Syrah blocks to contribute floral lift and aromatic complexity.

Our San Luis Obispo Coast Syrah showcases tantalizing notes of dark fruit, black pepper, and herbs, creating a bright and lively profile accompanied by a pleasant acidity. Its smooth and silky tannins lead to a graceful finish, while the wine itself boasts a stunning purple hue. A perfect pairing for this Syrah includes a succulent grilled flat iron steak and a rich potato gratin.
